As the recession continues and job options remain limited, many final year students are considering staying in the education system, while those who have been recently unemployed are considering trying to return to it. If you are planning on entering into a new course of study it is important to know what your options are.

'Upskill at DIT' is a career and education information clinic aimed at anyone looking to update their skills and qualifications, as well as those looking to change career direction entirely. It is open to all and takes place in DIT Aungier Street on Wednesday 22 April from 3.30pm till 7.30pm.

There will be information stands for specific topics and specific groups. Advice will be available for almost anyone who is wondering what options are available to them next year. There will be advice for mature students and those considering returning to education, advice for final year students who are considering postgraduate study and advice on how to set up your own business.

As well as the stands there will also be a series of twenty minute talks on useful subjects such as study skills, time management, entrepreneurship and starting your own business. Lecturers will also give short talks on the various different courses on offer, what they entail and where they might lead to in employment terms.

There are a massive amount of courses on offer in DIT which range from courses in media, law and business to courses in music performance, culinary skills and food product development. Information on all the programmes on offer will be available on the day and can also be found on the college's website.
