- Have a look at your core skillset and see what sub-sectors of the industry your skills would suit
- Retrain, go back to College or study online to beef up your knowledge and skills
- You may have to consider relocation to an area where there is a factory that will require the type of skills you have
- Useful to have an understanding of regulatory environment you will work in
- Do some research, talk to people in the industry
- A job for life? It's a relatively stable industry, with some growth in terms of employment and job opportunities
- May take 12-18 months to make the shift into the industry.
